My first kite

I lnow that it has been ages since I posted and probably wouldn't be posting now if I wasn't so excited about getting my first kite made.

It took 4 goes to finally get it right ... and I also probably should've ironed and trimmed it first ... but anyhoo.
and I'm now up to 70 blocks, 7 triangles and 1 kite completed. A total so far of 1492 pieces.

Well goodness me!!

Doesn't time get away from you. I haven't touched 'Lazy Jane' for a few months now but have got back into the swing of things by again completing the 'bow' on the usa dear jane group.
While I haven't taken photos of these blocks yet I have finished 3 more ... up to 33 blocks now.

I1 - Ralph and Nelda's Wedding

Again another BOW this time for Jan 24, 2010. It was an easy block to do - 2 x 9patch joined to a square then joined together.

Trooper's Green Badge

Hi, I'm finally back doing my 'Lazy Jane' blocks.
This one is the BOW ending 17th Jan, 2010. I did finish it in time but then couldn't get online to tell Betty. Oh well it doesn't matter about the accolade, I'm just glad to have another block finished.

A3 - Hunter's Moon

This the first block that I made back in 2000-03. I'm not totally sure when I actually started my journey and I was very new to needle turn applique, but I look at it now after many quilts made with needle turned applique and it still looks ok.

C8 - Hani's Crown

What a mess! Foundation paper piecing is definitely not my forte.

The US dear jane group threw out a challenge to find who could put the block together in the fastest time. I came nowhere near the fastest and now that I look at the block it is definitely wonky.

I can live with the middle square but will be redoing the rest of this block at a later date, hopefully by then I will be more atune with foundation piecing.
