This block is paper pieced and consists of 24 pieces. Easy to do but takes time. When I took this photo the block hadn't been trimmed back to its correct size of 5" square.

- I have been married to the same wonderful man since I was 19, we have 3 daughters, Sharyn - 3 children, Anne-Maree, Matthew and Jasmine. Robyn - 2 children, Skyelah and Jai, Kathryn - 2 children, Dylan and Taneesha. We were dairy farmers all our working lives though I also worked outside the farm as a bookkeeper. My mother taught me to sew and I have always loved it. I started into patchwork in 1986 with a single bed quilt for Sharyn all made out of 4" squares in different pink fabrics. That quilt now is the dust cover for my industrial sewer. Since then I have made many quilts and have found that I love doing needleturn applique best but have since found I enjoy doing hand embroidery and I love hexagons with a passion.
